Head of Mental Health & Impact


Helen Lewitan is a Clinical Psychologist with a specialty in Women's Mental Health. She runs her own private practice and works as head of mental health and impact at the Flourish Journey. She prides herself on being busy (sometimes too busy) including also being a mum and passionate foodie.

She is passionate about providing spaces for young girls to Flourish by encouraging and holding space for vulnerability and authenticity. In a world where there is immense pressure and challenges for young girls, Helen is motivated to provide spaces for young girls to be their real selves, working through challenges safely with no judgement nor fear. At the epicentre of her work is the desire to give light and platform young girls' voices as the true experts in the field. 

Helen Lewitan is a warm, compassionate and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist, who invests a collaborative and empathetic approach to see her clients reach individualised therapeutic goals. She upholds both Private and Public experience and delivers high-quality therapy and emotional support services to people across all ages including children, teens, adolescents

Helen is passionate about Womens' mental health and currently works part time at the Cabrini Womens' Mental Health Inpatient Unit. Helen is also experienced working in multidisciplinary teams and liaising with a range of allied health professionals to attain the best, individualised and holistic treatment approach for her clients. Her professional experience includes employment at Royal Children's Hospital, Eastern Health, Monash and Epworth hospitals and she has background in informal education teaching.

In addition, Helen has trained in couples therapy and enjoys working with couples to resolve interpersonal conflict and restore relationships. Helen works hard to resolve the underlying threads and issues that bring her clients into therapy, believing that therapy is an important and collaborative process. Rapport is of utmost importance to Helen as she believes trust and collaboration is key to effective therapy. Helen utilises a range of therapeutic techniques in her work including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Psychodynamic Therapy.
